Our wood comes from sustainable forests

All of our products are designed and manufactured in our own factory using the highest quality oak wood sourced from sustained forests in East Europe. We believe that it's important to help protect forests and the natural ecosystems that depend on them. For that reason we purchase our oak wood from loggers that operate in sustainable forests. So what actually is a sustainable forest?
A sustainable forest is a forest that is carefully managed so that as trees are felled they are replaced with seedlings that eventually grow into mature trees. This is a carefully and skilfully managed system. The forest is a working environment, producing wood products such as oak for the furniture industry. Great care is taken to ensure the safety of wildlife and the preservation of the natural environment. Sustainable forests are the result of a commonsense policy to replace trees that are felled so that forests continue to exist, providing natural materials for us all. We take great pride in knowing that our furniture can not only be enjoyed by consumers today, but also by future generations in years to come.
Furthermore, using sustainable forests can have a positive knock-on effect for the local community surrounding the area. Such a setup greatly improves the look of the natural environment and consequently attracts tourists such as walkers and hikers. Such forests can only survive if they make a profit, therefore other businesses start springing up, especially in the tourism industry. This helps provide jobs for the locals and brings in money for the economy.
When some people think of sustainable forests they wonder whether a tree is replaced every time one is cut down. The answer is maybe, but the forest itself does a pretty good job reseeding as long as the loggers leave some parent trees to do the job. This means they aim to avoid clear cutting a forest. Clear-cutting leaves nothing to reseed. If a clear cut is unavoidable than yes the loggers will replant at least one tree for everyone that was harvested.
Not only that, but they replant the same species that they harvested. If they don't replant then the ground becomes a lifeless infertile place where nothing will grow. If loggers leave a forest barren than there will be nothing left for future generations to harvest. That is why we only source oak wood from sustainable forests. We want to minimise negative effects to ecosystems and ensure the supply of oak is there to be enjoyed by future generations.
